Three-day weekend (rancho bee-bop)

As per usual, not much knew for the weekends, which is perfect for those of us with overflowing DVRs.

Friday:

Friday only has two new shows and spoiler alert...they both are listed as easy to pass, if not completely avoid.

CBS is rebooting MacGyver. And while I appreciate anyone's ability to save the world with gum, paper clips, and duct tape, initial reviews are not positive. That being said, it has George Eads from the original CSI in it, and my guess is that it will do well.

FOX has a show about The Exorcist. I hear it is horrible, even though Geena Davis is in it. And if you know me at all, you know I don't do horror, so I had a hard time even reading about it.

Saturday night and I'm feeling alright. Because football.

One of my favorite fall traditions is watching football all day Saturday. Truth be told, I'd rather watch college than pro. The NFL only gets interesting once the college season is coming to a close, IMHO. That all being said, if you don't get up to watch College Game Day, you should. Ridiculously well done. And then plot your entire day for the games to watch. My personal favorite thing to do when I'm not deep in the heart of my DVR is to watch the Pac-12 after dark show. Then again, I'm such a geek that when I'm watching my Cougs play I also follow the action on Twitter...because it is often more entertaining than the game...and yes, I'm aware that I need a life.

Sunday only brings one new show to the table.

And it is a weird one....Son of Zorn is a half regularly shot show but the main character is animated. It's an odd coupling, and the premise is possibly odder. Zorn is coming from his animated land where he is trying to reconnect with his 16-year-old son and ex-wife. Did I mention that Zorn is the only one who is animated? Jason Sudeikis is Zorn and executive producer.

Well, there's always football.

Check back next week when I give the run down on what we've watched in Casa de Navidad PLUS different shows that aren't just on Network TV. That's right, we'll take cable, streaming, and the premium channels! Good times...
